Conte & Conte, LLC, is dedicated to enhancing the relationship between people and their natural environment. Applying both art and science to landscape design, Conte & Conte, LLC specializes in the planning and design of client properties with the end goal of maximizing clients functional and aesthetic requirements.

After spending 20 years working together in the landscape construction industry, John & Kim Conte founded Conte & Conte, LLC in 1997. Combining their talents and their successes in the field of landscape construction, they have built a design firm that is a powerful combination of creative design solutions and highly effective project implementation.

Meet John R. Conte

John R. Conte, RLA, ASLA is the Owner and Principal Landscape Architect of Conte and Conte, LLC.

He conceptualizes and oversees all of the firm's design initiatives. Over the years, the firm has developed a portfolio of beautiful landscapes that have become reality under his direction. They are an ever expanding testament to his creativity and vision.
Most well-known for his residential work in the Greenwich area, John delivers unique design solutions to his clients by seeing past the ordinary. With a knack for proposing the unexpected, John has a way of steering projects toward exciting new directions to the client's delight.

In addition to being a registered Landscape Architect in Connecticut and New York, John is also a licensed Arborist and maintains professional affiliations and memberships within the landscape, horticultural and arboricultural industries.

As an active community volunteer, John has served as Vice-Chairman of the Greenwich Inlands Wetlands and Watercourse Agency, currently sits on the Town of Greenwich Architectural Review Committee and serves on the Boards of the Greenwich Tree Conservancy, Greenwich Land Trust, Greenwich Green & Clean, Greenwich Audubon and The Round Hill Association.

John also has served as an Executive Committee member of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Vice President of the Executive Board of the Greenwich Council for the Boy Scouts of America, Board of directors for Family Centers, Inc. and the United Way of Greenwich's Strategic Planning Council.

John attended Columbia University where he studied Architectural History and also holds a degree in Horticulture from the State University of New York.

With over 30 years of experience in design, construction and management, he draws from a broad base of practical hands on knowledge. His current practice, established in 1997, has flourished under his guidance and is now recognized as a leading resource for Landscape Architectural services in the area.

Meet Kimberly Conte

Kimberly R. S. Conte collaborates on all design projects as well as manages the firm's day-to-day operations. Having a solid background in business and having run operations in the construction industry for over 30 years, Kim provides a wealth of experience and practical know-how on the job site, as well as behind the scenes. She is well versed in bid analyses, contract negotiations and the coordination of on-site workflows. These skills help to provide seamless continuity from the design process through project completion.

With a Degree in Administration from Berkeley College, Kim brings a critical skill set to the organization that benefit her clients throughout the design and build process. Kim's guidance researching and specifying materials, products and sources helps to insure that the right choices are made during the design development phase bringing a high level of beauty, quality and value into every project.

Kim also heads up the firm's horticultural design initiatives by applying her love of gardening and encyclopedic knowledge of plants, to the site design. As a gifted master gardener she works with clients to develop a balance of color, seasonality and maintainability to the landscape.

Meet Juliana L. Conte

Juliana is the firm’s Buisness Manager coordinating office efforts as well as client communications and employee relations. Juliana holds a BS from Simmons in Boston and a Master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Fairfield University. Juliana keeps her finger on the pulse of new landscape design and construction projects focusing in the greater Connecticut and New York area. With an excellent eye for design, Juliana is a terrific addition to our company. She is always excited to make new connections and increase our circle of satisfied clients and business relationships.

Meet Cleo Abrams-Horsburgh

Cleo, brings highly refined world class experience to our firm. She is a licensed Landscape Architect with a degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and has traveled extensively and worked throughout the US and abroad. She has also worked as a Landscape Architect in both private and governmental agencies, making her adept at navigating large projects with heavy administrative requirements.

Her experience has provided her an appreciation for many different landscape styles and relates them well to a variety of cultural sensitivities. Cleo also has a strong background in art and art history and brings an artistic flair with a fine art aesthetic to her designs.

Meet Heidi Brake Smith

Heidi joins the team as a Design Associate. Heidi recently completed her Master’s in Urban Planning and then complemented it with a Landscape Design Certificate from the New York Botanical Garden. Heidi’s experiences in local Planning Initiatives and appreciation for urban design is why Heidi returned to academia after a long career in finance and investment. Heidi’s energy in designing her own gardens combined with her appreciation of garden design were the impetus for a new career.

Meet Gilly Lusby

Gilly provides administrative support and handles marketing, event and social media coordination. Gilly joined us in the summer of 2013 after 16 years in the beverage industry upon discovering outdoors and landscapes would be a breath of fresh air, literally. Her enthusiasm and quick wit along with strong attention to detail, makes her a welcome addition to the team.

Meet Elizabeth Fina

Elizabeth provides the firm with administrative support in bookkeeping and file management. She also coordinates and manages hospitality for staff meetings, events and client meetings. Her love of landscape design and gardening was instilled in her during the years she spent studying in the urban environments of New York and Philadelphia.

This extraordinary combination of design/build skills is what sets Conte & Conte, LLC apart. Not just a drawing and a hand-off, but a full service, “get-the-job-done” mindset taking the client through the entire process of project Planning, Program Development, Site Design, and Project Construction.
