John R. Conte, RLA, ASLA is the Owner and Principal Landscape Architect of Conte and Conte, LLC.
He conceptualizes and oversees all of the firm's design initiatives. Over the years, the firm has developed a portfolio of beautiful landscapes that have become reality under his direction. They are an ever expanding testament to his creativity and vision.
Most well-known for his residential work in the Greenwich area, John delivers unique design solutions to his clients by seeing past the ordinary. With a knack for proposing the unexpected, John has a way of steering projects toward exciting new directions to the client's delight.
In addition to being a registered Landscape Architect in Connecticut and New York, John is also a licensed Arborist and maintains professional affiliations and memberships within the landscape, horticultural and arboricultural industries.
As an active community volunteer, John has served as Vice-Chairman of the Greenwich Inlands Wetlands and Watercourse Agency, currently sits on the Town of Greenwich Architectural Review Committee and serves on the Boards of the Greenwich Tree Conservancy, Greenwich Land Trust, Greenwich Green & Clean, Greenwich Audubon and The Round Hill Association.
John also has served as an Executive Committee member of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Vice President of the Executive Board of the Greenwich Council for the Boy Scouts of America, Board of directors for Family Centers, Inc. and the United Way of Greenwich's Strategic Planning Council.
John attended Columbia University where he studied Architectural History and also holds a degree in Horticulture from the State University of New York.
With over 30 years of experience in design, construction and management, he draws from a broad base of practical hands on knowledge. His current practice, established in 1997, has flourished under his guidance and is now recognized as a leading resource for Landscape Architectural services in the area.
